Surprise Marriage Proposal

in Vienna

I can not say for sure who was more nervous about this romantic surprise marriage proposal in Vienna. The moment Steven and Pamela walked past me I was almost breathless with excitement!

In the past few years I have had so many shootings, accompanied so many weddings and captured so many spontaneous moments with my camera. But a surprise proposal like this in Vienna is something quite unique.

Steven and I have been writing back and forth for a few weeks to work out the perfect plan for his surprise marriage proposal in Vienna.

I was looking for a suitable, not too crowded place in Vienna with a nice background which was not too far from the hotel they were about to stay in. For me, the plateau of the Albertina Museum seemed to be the perfect place for it.

When Steven and Pamela finally came around the corner half an hour late my heart was pounding. Pamela spent more time in the hotel room than planned which made Steven even more nervous and fingers freeze off while I was waiting in the icy wind for them. However, as soon as they arrived I felt warm all over again. They were standing up front at the balustrade talking when all of a sudden Steven went down on his knee to propose.

As you can imagine, Pamela was speechless and overjoyed. With tears of joy in her eyes she said: “YES” and let Steven put this beautiful engagement ring on her finger. After I introduced myself and told her about our master plan, she was totally swept off her feet and smiling head over ears. We spent the next two hours in front of the Albertina Museum and the Palm House before we walked to the nearby Burggarten for an engagement photo session. We had such a wonderful morning which we all will remember for the rest of our lives.
