Marie-Eve and Claus chose the beautiful Lombardy as their perfect wedding location. Lake Iseo is situated amidst the picturesque scenery of the mountains and is not as touristy as Lake Maggiore or Lake Como. On the biggest lake island – Monte Isola – you’ll find Castello Oldofredi, the location they chose for their wedding. Here you not only have unique lakeviews but also can enjoy the most beautiful sunsets. The guests arrived from all over the world to celebrate the special day of Marie-Eve and Claus: The United States, Canada, Great Britain, Denmark – to only name a few oft he countries. It was an intimate wedding: bride and groom wanted to share their big day only with their closest family members and friends.
The festivities started off with a rehearsal dinner where all guests had pizza, regional antipasti and great wine at a long banquet table under olive trees ( more of this event here). The following day began with everybody having breakfast together. After that Marie-Eve had the getting-ready in her suite with her sisters and best friends who did her styling. She looked absolutely stunning in her gown reminding a bit of Empress Sissi, of whom she was big fan since her childhood. Marie-Eve’s great feeling for style and her fine taste was evident in her look and her accessories as well as in the overall decorations.
The ceremony took place in brilliant sunshine with a great view over Lake Iseo. The personal vows of the couple were so emotional and with lots of feelings, so that I couldn’t hold back and shed a few happy tears myself. The love Marie-Eve and Claus share is a special treasure and everybody can see and feel their connection.
The colour scheme of destination wedding at Lake Iseo , Lombardy was vanilla, white an green. The flowers were elegant and tasteful. All the vendors came from the region and implemented all details perfectly – from the flowerarch to the table decorations to the beautiful bridal bouqet.
After we had a portrait session in the olive grove and the old town, all guests arrived at the festive decorated table where there was delicious food and a great party. When the sun set, bride and groom cut the cake and all guests sent good wishes-lanterns for the couple into the sky. It was a truly delightful wedding weekend which will stay in my memories forever.
Thanks again to Marie-Eve & Claus for your trust in me and my work. It was such a unique experience and I enjoyed every second shooting your wedding at Lake Iseo.
